YARD SYSTEMS
Rotary (or rotating)
dairy platforms are designed to reduce labour expenditure and time
spent in the dairy.
Yard systems hold cows
before milking so that they are:
-
controllable,
-
their waste is
contained and run into an enclosed disposal system,
-
they can be
coerced into and out of milking bails without fuss or delay.
Dairy Tech yard
systems are designed to enable:
-
easy cow flow in
and out of the milking area,
-
individual animals
to be either held back for further treatment or released into a
paddock race.
Yard designs are
either circular or rectangular.
Circular yards have gates and
wash-down lines pivot from a central post, which allows for no-fuss
automation. It's a system well suited to split herd milking.
Rectangular yards offer the
advantage of being extendable for future herd increases, as well as
the benefits of herd control, cow flow and waste management common
to both yard systems.
