SILAGE PITS
Dairy Tech silage pits are designed to an
engineer’s specifications and comprise three walls of precast
concrete and mesh and a poured floor on Dairy Tech heavy-duty steel
mesh.
For larger silage pits the floor is poured
first and the walls are “stack poured” into boxing built on site and
laid flat. A release agent is sprayed between each of the three wall
layers and when set will be craned on to the floor.
FEED PADS
Dairy Tech feed pads are designed and
constructed to enable cattle to have efficient access to feed bins
as well as fitting in with the requirements of different farm
systems.
FERTILISER BINS
Dairy Tech fertiliser bins are designed to
engineer’s specifications and as with underpasses have buttressed
pre-cast concrete and mesh walls.
They usually have a sliding, colour steel or
zincalume curved-truss roof on a nylon roller and channel system
that enables the roof cover to be pushed back and forth manually.
The roof cover is pushed or pulled to allow for
trucks to unload bulk fertiliser into the bins and for front-end
loaders to take out fertiliser.
Larger bins can have a central partition. The
roof cover can be pushed completely off the bins and be rolled on to
steel stands.
The front of the bins usually has a concrete
apron as a work area for heavy vehicles.
