Single span, pre-cast concrete

Dairy Tech bridges meet required engineering specifications for every individual bridge.

The general procedure is for Parallel Universal Beam  beams to be sandblasted, painted and fitted on site piles and then Dairy Tech manufactured tilt-slab concrete panels, either 4 or 4.5 metres wide, are laid in 2 metre lengths.

Steel cross-braces under the bridge add further strength.

The bridges' vehicle axle loadings are in accordance with the Transit NZ Class 1 rating. Dairy Tech bridges span up to 21 metres.

Wing wall panels, made by Dairy Tech, are fitted to hold the banks and abutments are designed to hold the ends of the bridge in place.

Galvanised steel rails, also manufactured by Dairy Tech, are fitted to the sides of the bridge for safe crossings.
