BACKING GATES

The Backing Gate extends the radius of the yard and sections off an area of the yard for easier control of stock movement.

A single or pair of Backing Gates can be made to any radius for a circular  yard, are pivoted on the yard centre post and powered either by water pressure, electric motor or manually pushed.

A water-driven backing gate incorporates a water drive that has four wheels in front and one wheel at the back and is mounted on the backing gate. It is controlled from the pit or is part of an automated setup using "photo-eye" sensors.

Water-driven backing gates can also come with yard scrappers and water jets to assist cleaning the dairy yard. A further option is to fit hock rails to protect the cows and the gates from full contact.
